False Accusations

"Captain, we arriving to our destination," reported Ensign Murphy.
"Begin scanning the area," ordered Leno.
"The area is clean. Sensors do not detect any Jem'Hadar ships in the vicinity," reported Lieutenant Commander Jones. "We'll wait here until the cargo ship passes. That cargo must be destroyed."
We have been waiting for the cargo ship, however, there is no sign of the ship.
"Captain, the cargo ship will arrive in an hour," reported Jones.
"Set a course for it, Warp 9.2."
"We will arrive in 10 minutes," reported Murphy.
"Sensors
are picking up two Jem'Hadar ships," reported Jones.
"We are going to have a rough
ride," stated Commander Brooks.
“The cargo ship is changing course,” reported Jones.
“Change course to follow.”
We have located the cargo ship again. We will arrive in a few minutes.
“Captain, we are nearing the cargo ship,” reported Jones.
“Red alert,” ordered Leno.
“The Jem’Hadar ships are nearing the cargo ship.”
“Concentrate firing on the cargo ship.”
“Shielding down to 82%.”
“We’ve knocked out the cargo ships weapons,” reported Ensign Wilson.
“Two more Jem’Hadar ships are coming toward us,” reported Murphy.
"Evasive maneuvers."
"The cargo ship has been destroyed," reported Jones.
"Get us out of here, Warp 9."
"You are receiving an incoming message from Admiral Tael.
"Send it to my ready room. Commander you have the bridge," ordered Leno.
Captain Leno went to his ready room. He turned his desktop computer.
"Alex, our long-range sensors are picking up additional Dominion cargo ships. Onboard some of those shuttles are some of our Cardassian spies. They must be picked up and taken to Starbase 96 right away," ordered Tael.
"We will begin as soon as we can shake these Dominion ships."
"Time is of the essence, Tael out."
Captain Leno returned to the bridge. He took a look at sensor readings. He entered the coordinates of a cargo ship.
"Ensign Murphy, proceed with the course I've entered at Warp 4," ordered Leno.
"The Jem'Hadar ships were destroyed a short while ago," reported Brooks.
"We are going to be meeting up with more Jem'Hadar ships in a little while."
"Captain, we are being hailed," stated Jones.
"On screen."
"Captain, I have important information on the Dominion. I am being followed. The other Cardassian has been tortured and killed," stated Gadar.
"Prepare to dock in the Main Shuttlebay."
Gadar's ship docked in the Main Shuttlebay. He was escorted to the Captain's Ready Room.
"The Dominion is after me. They killed six other Cardassians. I'm the only one left from that shuttle," stated Gadar.
"You will be safe while on this ship," stated Leno.
"I have vital information about the Dominion."
"We will assign you quarters and there you can prepare a report."
"Thank you, captain."
Gadar was escorted to his quarters on Deck 6. he began his report to present to Captain Leno.
Gadar has made his report. The situation with the Dominion is worse than I thought. The report has been sent to Starfleet Intelligence.
Gadar left his quarters and went to the lounge.
“A new face around here,” stated Logan, the ship’s cook.
“Do you have any Cardassian food available?’
“What would you like?”
“Larish pie.”
“I’ll be right back.”
Chef Logan went to the back. He brought back a dish.
“Hot from the replicator,” stated Logan.
Gadar ate his dinner. He later went to speak with Captain Leno.
“Have you sent the report to Starfleet?” asked Gadar.
“I sent it a few hours ago. I haven’t received any response.”
“Red alert. Captain to bridge,” stated Jones, over the shipwide communication system.
Captain Leno and Gadar went to the Main Bridge. Gadar later left to return to his quarters.
“Status report,” requested Leno.
“Two Jem’Hadar warships closing quickly.”
“Ready aft torpedo launcher.”
“Torpedo launcher ready.”
“Fire torpedoes when in range.”
“In range, firing torpedoes.”
“Minor damage to the lead Jem’Hadar ship,” reported Wilson.
“Slow to impulse.”
“Slowing to impulse,” reported Murphy.
“Jem’Hadar ships closing quickly,” reported Jones.
“Fire weapons at will,” ordered Leno.
The Jem’Hadar ships continued towards the Texas.
“Jem’Hadar ships are in range, firing all weapons at will,” reported Jones.
“Hull breach on Decks 4-7,” reported Wilson.
“Evacuate those decks,” ordered Brooks.
Gadar left his quarters and returned to the Main Bridge.
“Captain, I have knowledge that will help against the Jem’Hadar ships,” stated Gadar.
Gadar went over to the tactical station.
"If you fire at these points, the ship will be destroyed," suggested Gadar.
"Captain?" asked Jones.
"Do it."
"The Jem'Hadar shielding has failed."
"Destroy the ships."
"The ships have been destroyed," reported Jones.
"Stand down."
Captain Leno went to his ready room while Gadar returned to his quarters. Captain Leno ordered a cup of coffee from the replicator. Kamara walked in.
"Hi, Alex."
"Hi, Kamara. What do you need?"
"Just needed someone to talk to."
"I'm off duty in four minutes. Do you want to go to the Ben’s quarters and get dinner?"
"I have nothing else to do tonight."
Captain Leno and Kamara went to her quarters, after Captain Leno's duty shift was over.
“We are going to Ben’s for dinner,” stated Kamara.
“That’s fine.”
“Is it true he broke with Lieutenant Ryder?”
“He broke up with her last night. That’s why we are going to dinner.”
“Wasn’t he going out with her since the Texas was commissioned?”
“I think he was. I need to check with the bridge.”
Captain Leno contacted the Main Bridge from Kamara’s bedroom.
“Have sensors located any nearby Dominion ships?” asked Leno.
“Sensors are clean,” answered Jones.
“I’ll see you in the morning. Tell Commander Brooks to go home.”
“He’s leaving now.”
“Any response from Starfleet Command?”
“None yet.”
Captain Leno and Kamara went over to Ben's quarters. They went inside, which was nearly destroyed.
“What happened here?” asked Leno.
“Laura came down and was upset,” answered Ben
“Lieutenant Dayan,” stated Leno, over his communicator.
“Dayan here.”
“Please escort Lieutenant Ryder down to the brig. I’ll be with her in a few minutes,” ordered Leno.
“You didn’t have to do that!” exclaimed Ben.
“She damaged Starfleet property.”
“I’m going to leave,” stated Kamara.
“I’m going with you. I want these quarters cleaned up immediately.”
Captain Leno and Kamara went to the lounge.
“Ben’s mad at you,” stated Kamara.”
“I don’t care. Lieutenant Ryder damaged Starfleet property. I’ll deal with her later.”
“What you would like?” asked Chef Logan.
“Pot roast, a baked potato and raktajino,” answered Kamara.
“I would like the French onion soup and a piece of cherry pie and give me a mint tea.”
Chef Logan went to get the orders from the kitchen.
“This is delicious,” stated Leno.
“Thank you. I made the soup a few hours ago,” stated Logan.
Captain Leno and Kamara ate their dinner. Captain Leno was still mad at Lieutenant Ryder.
“I’m going down to the brig,” stated Leno.
Commander Brooks walked into the lounge. Captain Leno stopped to talk to him.
“Starfleet sent a response. They say that additional spies from other sectors should be here in a few days,” stated Brooks.
“Keep me notified.”
Captain Leno left the lounge.
“Why is he so upset?” asked Brooks.
“He’s mad at Ben and Lieutenant Ryder.”
Captain Leno stopped at Ben’s quarters.
“I’ve finished cleaning. I have prepared a list of items she has broken and what I will need to replace,” stated Ben Leno.
“I’ll take that.”
Captain Leno continued to the brig.
“Why did you destroy Ben’s quarters?” asked Leno.
“What am I being held for?” asked Ryder.
“The destruction of Starfleet equipment.”
“I will answer no more questions.”
“This will go down into your record.”
Captain Leno lowered the force field.
“You are confined to quarters and stay away from Ben.”
Captain Leno went to his quarters to relax.
Chapter 3
Captain Leno got up and ate breakfast and then went to the Main Bridge.
“Two Cardassians cargo ships are being attacked by Jem’Hadar war ships,” reported Jones.
“Take us to the cargo ships, Warp 9,” ordered Leno.
“We will arrive in six minutes,” reported Murphy.
We have located additional Cardassian spies for us to pickup.
“Captain, we within Transporter range,” reported Jones.
“Beam them to the Texas.”
“We have them.”
“Red alert.”
“Four ships rapidly approaching.”
“Continue course.”
As the Texas continued its course, a Jem’Hadar ship came out of hiding and fired upon the Texas. Ensign Murphy was thrown from her chair. Commander Brooks ran over to her.
“How is she?” asked Leno.
“She needs medical attention.”
“Emergency medical crew needed on the bridge,” stated Leno, over the communication system.
Doctor Adams rushed to the Main Bridge. Commander Brooks took over Conn.
“She needs to be taken to Sickbay,” stated Adams.
“Get her out of her,” ordered Adams.
“The ships are following,” reported Jones.
“Scan for additional Starfleet ships.”
“None located.”
“We are on our own,” stated Brooks.
“Launch torpedoes from the aft torpedo launcher in all directions.”
“One ship damaged. The others are still following us.”
We have picked up the Cardassian spies. They have made reports and I have sent them to Starfleet Command.
“Captain, sensors are picking up a small fleet of Dominion ships,” reported Jones.
“Go to red alert.”
“Sensors have picked up the Ajax and Lexington.”
“Finally some help.”
“The Dominion ships will arrive in two minutes. Additional ships are over and hour away at their present warp of 8.2”
“The Ajax and Lexington have arrived to our position,” reported Lieutenant Jennifer Taylor.
“Captain, Doctor Adams requests you and Commander Brooks to visit Sickbay at once,” stated Jones.
Captain Leno and Commander Brooks went to Sickbay.
“I have terrible news. Lieutenant Max Smith was murdered a few hours ago. Lieutenant Steve Anderson went to look for him, and located him in his quarters dead,” stated Adams.
“I want a full investigation. I want to know the cause of death in no more than five hours,” ordered Leno.
“Lieutenant Anderson has made a report,” stated Lieutenant Dayan.
“I want that report in one hour. I have to get back to the bridge.”
Captain Leno and Commander Brooks returned to the Main Bridge.
“I want our Cardassian spies under heavy security and all of them questioned,” ordered Leno.
“Captain, we are entering the range of the Jem’Hadar ships,” reported Jones.
“Fire weapons at will.”
“Lieutenant Dayan has begun searching the crew who were near that deck and section at that time,” reported Brooks.
“I don’t want the crew to find out right now. I think it was one of the Cardassians. I want sensitive parts of the ship heavily guarded and communications monitored. I don’t want anything to happen.”
“I will get right on it.”
Chapter 4
Commander Brooks and Lieutenant Dayan began their investigation of the death of Lieutenant Max Smith. They went to report to Captain Leno.
“What have you found?” asked Leno.
“We have narrowed the suspects to 12 crew members and 2 Cardassians,” answered Brooks.
“Begin questioning the crew. I will handle the Cardassians.
Commander Brooks went to question the crew, while Lieutenant Dayan checked on his security teams. Captain Leno contacted Admiral Tael.
“Alex, what do you need?” asked Tael.
“We have a major problem. One of my crew members was killed a short time ago and two of the Cardassians are suspects.”
“That doesn’t sound good. I will send you what we have on each of the Cardassians.”
“Thank you, admiral.
Lieutenant Max Smith has been killed. We have begun an investigation.
Captain Leno went to question the Cardassian suspects. He first went to talk to Lamal.
“I need to ask you a few questions. There has been a murder on the ship,” stated Leno.
“Go ahead.”
“According to our sensor logs, you’ll on Deck 6 at the time of the murder. Were you near Lieutenant Max Smith quarters?”
“I was no where near his quarters. I walked past there to get to my quarters.”
“You’ll have been confined to quarters for security reasons.”
Captain Leno went to talk to Hazar, after that he returned to the Main Bridge.
“All the suspects have been questioned,” stated Brooks.
“We have narrowed the list to the two Cardassians,” stated Dayan.
“I believe it was Hazar,” stated Leno.
“We will keep watch on him,” stated Dayan.
“I want Tomal to perform a mind-meld on Hazar.”
“He says he will be ready within the hour,” stated Dayan.
“Hazar says he will do it,” reported Brooks.
“Tomal got ready to mind-meld with Hazar. They began the mind-meld.
“Captain, he did not kill Lieutenant Smith,” stated Tomal.
“Captain, a shuttle has just left the ship,” interrupted Jones.
"Who's on it?"
"Lamal."
"Tractor it."
"He has set the destruct program. The ship will explode in 15 seconds."
"Shields up."
Lamal's shuttle exploded.
"We had no damage. Lamal is dead," stated Leno.
"Stand down."
Captain Leno went to contact Lieutenant Smith's family.
"I have terrible news to deliver," stated Leno.
"Go ahead, Alex," stated Mrs. Smith.
"Max was killed by a Cardassian spy."
"When did this happen?"
"Approximately 20 hours ago. The Cardassian killed himself a short while ago aboard one of our shuttles."
"Thank you."
"We will have his body sent to you in a few days."
A funeral service was held aboard the Texas for Lieutenant Max Smith.
"He was the first person killed on this ship. Today is a sad day that forever be with us," stated Leno.
The funeral service came to a end.
Lieutenant Smith's funeral has just ended. We have set a course for Starbase 139, where we will drop off Smith's body and the remaining Cardassians.
We are arriving to the Starbase," stated Murphy.
"Dock to the Starbase."
"We have docked."
Captain Leno took the body of Lieutenant Max Smith to the Starbase. Lieutenant Dayan escorted the remaining Cardassians to Admiral Tael.
We have returned the body of Lieutenant Smith to his family. The Cardassians have been given to Admiral Tael, where he will learn additional information about the Dominion.
