Q Returns
By: Richard D. Phillips

Chapter 1

"Captain, there is incoming message from Q," reported Lieutenant Commander Jones.

"Send it to my ready room."

"Getting ready for the big day," stated Q.

"It is still a few weeks away."

"Can I come aboard for a few days?"

"Do you promise not to create any trouble?"

     "You know me too well."

"Come aboard.  We could use a break from the Dominion."

"I'm here and in record time."

     "What brings you aboard?"

     "Just want to visit."

"You're nor going to ruin my wedding, are you?"

"I have no intention or reason to do that, unless you want me to."

     "I don't.  I'm sure Kamara doesn't either."

Q transported himself to the outside of Kamara's quarters and rang the bell.

     "Who is it?" asked Kamara.

     "Your favorite Q."

"Come in.  What brings you here."

"I just want to congratulate you."

     "For what?"

"For marrying Captain Leno.  How long have you had feeling for him?"

"I had feelings for him when we were teenagers, but not again until I came aboard the Texas."

Kamara's Personal Log Stardate: 51952.6

Q came to visit me today.  He is just bored and needs something to do.

"When was the last time did you see Q," asked Leno.

"A couple of hours ago.  He just was asking some questions," answered Kamara.

"Did he say anything why he came aboard?"

"He didn't say anything.  I don't think he is up to anything."

"He is always up to something.  He just doesn't say all the time."

     "We will find out soon."

     "I don't think I want to know."

"Everything will be fine.  It was last time he came aboard.  You had a good time with, going through history.  You were gone for days and didn't worry about the Dominion or the ship."

"I'm going to look for him."

"I will come with you.  I have to stop and talk to Chef Logan about the wedding cake."

Captain Leno went to find Q while Kamara went to the lounge,

"Q, why did you come aboard?  Are you up to something I should know about know about?" asked Leno.

"If I was up to something, you would already know about it."

     "You didn't answer my question."

"I came to talk about the wedding.  What kind of wedding are you having?"

"A traditional Klingon wedding with a reception."

"It sounds nice but I won't be able to make it.  I have other things I have to do at that time."

"What could be more than important than my wedding?"

"Some meetings with the other Q."

"Will you come back and ask us about it?"

"I will have to do that."

"Captain, a nearby Federation colonization is under attack by the Dominion," reported Jones.

     "Take us there, maximum warp."

"We will arrive in six minutes," reported Ensign Wilson.

Captain Leno and Q went to the Main Bridge.  Captain Leno took his seat while Q stood near Ensign Wilson.

     "Hello, Q," stated Wilson.

     "Hello, Helen."

"What have you been up to since your last visit?"

     "Just the typical Q stuff."

"I think I can get a clue of that."

"The planet has taken minor damage.  An additional four Starfleet ships are in the area," reported Jones.

"Go to red alert.  Prepare to fire torpedoes."

"We are coming into range," reported Murphy.

     "Fire all weapons."

"Minor damage to the lead ship.  They are returning fire," reported Jones.

     "Evasive maneuvers."

"The ships have been destroyed by the other Starfleet ships," reported Wilson.

     "Stand down."

"Message from Starfleet Command. We are to escort a group of Ambassadors to Baval for a peace mission.  Coordinates are locked in," reported Jones.

"Take us to the coordinates, maximum warp."

Chapter 2

Captain's Log Stardate: 51962.6

Q has returned to the Texas. I believe he has just come to visit.  We have set a course to pick up a group of ambassadors to transport to Baval.

"I have the cake picked out," stated Kamara.

"I can't believe it is just a few weeks away."

"I wonder where Q has gone?"

"He said he would be back in a little while."

"I have to go look up some history in the computer.  I'll see you later."

"I'm on duty in a few minutes."

Captain Leno went to the bridge.  He knew something was up.

"Captain, sensors have picked up six Jem'Hadar ships in the area," reported Jones.

"We will arrive in 46 minutes to the ships," reported Murphy.

Captain's Log Stardate: 51970.4

We have picked up the group of ambassadors.  We are proceeding to Baval.  Sensors detect six Jem'Hadar ships in our flight plan.

"We are nearing the Jem'Hadar ships," reported Jones.

"Red alert.  Take us as far away as we can without adding too much time to get to Baval."

"New course is ready, however, it will add 20 more minutes."

     "That is acceptable."

Captain's Log Stardate: 51987.9

We have arrived to Baval.  The group of ambassadors has beamed down to the surface.

"Captain, we are being hailed from Ambassador Tomlak," reported Jones.

     "On screen."

"Captain Leno, we are having trouble.  We need some more information about the planet," stated Tomlak.

"I will have it sent right away."

"I have prepared a list of what we need."

"Ensign Wilson, start on that list."

"The information will be ready in 30 minutes."

"I am going down to the planet.  Have Lieutenant Dayan meet me in the Transporter room."

Captain Leno and Lieutenant Dayan beamed down to Baval.  Ambassador Dovak met up with them.

"We have received the information," stated Dovak.

"How are things proceeding?" asked Leno.

     "Could be better," answered Tomlak.

     "What's happening?"

"The Bavalians won't talk to us, but haven't sent us away," answered Dovak.

"They have agreed to talk with us," stated Tomlak.

"We have to get back to our work."

"Ambassador Galorank has been jailed.  Someone said he killed someone," stated Ambassador Erokocam.

"This is a setback.  We must free him and figured out what has happened," stated Tomlak.

"Notify me of any changes," ordered Leno.

Captain Leno returned to the ship.  Q had also arrived.  Q went to talk to Captain Leno.

"Welcome back.  Not going well down there," observed Q.

"It could be going much better.  I have to contact Starfleet Command," replied Leno.

Captain Leno went to contact Starfleet Command.

"There is nothing we can do at the moment.  We must wait to see what happens in the next dew days," stated Admiral Eozalo.

"I will inform you of any changes," replied Leno.

"Captain, your mother is hailing," stated Jones.

"Put her through to my ready room."

     "Hello, Alex."

     "Hello, mother."

"Is the wedding the same day as originally planned?"

     "Yes, why do you ask?"

"I have to return to finish some work.  I have a paper I'm working on for Starfleet Command.  I have to have it finished in a few more weeks."

"I will let you know of any changes in the schedule."

"I have to get back to work.  I'll see you in a few more weeks."

Captain Leno went to visit with Q for a little while.  Kamara stopped by to talk to her fiancé.

"I think you two would like to be left alone.  I'm going to go bother some other members of the crew," stated Q.

"Just don't bother the ones working," stated Leno.

     "I wouldn't think of it."

"Do you want to go and get dinner?" asked Kamara.

"I just ate a little while ago.  How about we go sailing on the Seine River?"

"You want to be romantic tonight.  I can play this game."

Captain Leno and Kamara went to the holosuite.  He pulled up the program he wanted.  They entered the holosuite onto a boat on the Seine River.

Chapter 3

Captain Leno and Kamara went to the lounge to eat dinner.

"I can't believe I fell into the water," stated Leno.

     "That was funny."

"What did I miss?" asked Q.

"Not much.  Just Alex falling out of water," answered Kamara.

"Kamara, you have an incoming message from your parents," stated Jones.

"I will take it in my quarters.  I will be right back."

Kamara went to her quarters.  She sat down and turned on her desktop computer.

"We had a hard time contacting the ship.  Starfleet is running more security on the communication systems," stated Mr. Harkins.

"How long have you been trying?" asked Kamara.

"A few days now.  How have you been doing?" asked Kamara.

     "I'm doing fine, Alex.

“When is the wedding?" asked Mr. Harkins.

"Three weeks from tomorrow.  Are you still coming?"

"Of course.  We have to go to Qo'noS for two weeks.  We are going to visit some friends," answered Kemara.

     "Be careful crossing the border."

"We are tagging a ride with some Klingon ships out of the border," stated Mr. Harkins.

"We have to start packing.  We'll see you in a few weeks," stated Kemara.

Kamara returned to the lounge, however, Captain Leno wasn't there.

"What happened to Alex?" asked Kamara.

"He had to do to the bridge.  Something about the current mission," answered Logan.

"He beamed down to the surface a little while ago," added Q.

"I just will return to my quarters," stated Kamara.

"I'll keep you company for a little while," stated Q.

"I have some questions about the Q Continuum."

     "What are they?"

"What is it like to be to go anywhere you want in any time period?"

"I don't know how it feels.  I offered Commander Riker the ability, but he decided the offer."

"I heard about that.  I wouldn't know what to do with the ability to time travel."

"You would find out fast once you had them."

"Captain Leno has just returned from Baval," stated Logan.

"I have to get going," stated Kamara.

"I'll see you later," stated Q.

Kamara went to see Captain Leno.

Captain's Log Stardate: 52017.3

The situation on Baval has not changed.  The Bavalians refuse to settle on a peace mission agreement.  Attacks from the Dominion have not helped either.

"Another wave of Dominion ships coming towards the planet," reported Jones.

"Take us toward them, full impulse.  Red alert.  All hands to battle stations."

"The ships are moving away at Warp 8.  Shall we follow them?" asked Murphy.

"Hold position.  We are needed more at Baval.

"The Ambassadors that were being held were just released.  One needs medical attention right away," reported Brooks.

"Do we have a lock on him?"

"Yes, however, there is minor interference from the planet's atmosphere," answered Jones.

     "Transport him directly to Sickbay."

"Ambassador Dovak is requesting to beam aboard."

"Permission granted.  Send him to my ready room."

Ambassador Galorank was transported to Sickbay, where Doctor Adams began treatment on Galorank.  Ambassador Dovak was escorted to Captain Leno's ready room.

"The Bavalian Government reported Galorank was injured in a brawl with other prisoners and they were unable to treat him," stated Dovak.

"Captain, Doctor Adams is here to see you," reported Brooks.

     "Send him in."

"The Bavalian Government is telling the truth.  Ambassador Galorank has supported the story," reported Adams.

"We have been to make contact.  They should be signing the peace treaty in a few days in no new problems came up," stated Dovak.

"I have orders from Starfleet to leave once a treaty has been signed.

Captain's Log Stardate: 52069.3

A peace treaty has been signed.  We are proceeding for out next mission to patrol a sector near the Klingon border.

"We will arrive in a few hours at our current speed," reported Murphy.

     "Where is Q?" asked Leno.

"He is with Kamara in the lounge," answered Jones.

Chapter 4

Captain Leno went to the lounge.  He sat next to Kamara.

"Q has been telling me about some of his travels," stated Kamara.

"I'm going to create trouble for Commander Brooks," stated Q.

     "Not too harsh," stated Leno.

"I'm going to rearrange his quarters around. "

Commander Brooks went to his quarters a short while later.  He was shocked to see his quarters had been changed.

"Who did this?" asked Brooks to himself.

He contacted Captain Leno.  Captain Leno went to Commander Brooks' quarters.

"Are you taking a liking to Klingon furniture?" asked Leno.

"This is not funny.  I wan my old quarters back!"

Captain Leno began to laugh as Q popped in.

"You did this," stated Brooks, accusing Q for changing his quarters.

     "Isn't it nice?" asked Q.

"Kamara would like it," added Leno.

"I want my quarters back now!"

Q changed the quarters to look like before he changed them.

"Please exit my quarters.  I can't believe you laughed at this," sated brooks.

     "It was funny."

"Captain, we are arriving to the border.  Sensors do not detect any Dominion ships," reported Jones.

"Take us to the coordinates for the wedding."

"We are being hailed from Admiral Naovl."

"Put it through Commander Brooks' quarters."

Captain Leno and Commander Brooks went over to the desk, Commander Brooks turned on the computer, while Captain Leno sat down.

     "What is it?" asked Leno.

"The Texas is to proceed to Starbase 143 to pick up some scientists for a research mission to be conducted in a few days."

     "We will proceed right away."

     "I'm sorry for this."

     "I will inform Kamara."

Captain Leno went to inform Kamara of the possible changes in their wedding plans.

"How long is going to take?" asked Kamara.

"About a week.  We will make it to the coordinates a little later, however, we will be there before out friends and family are expected to arrive," answered Leno.

"That is fine.  I've been waiting for this day for months and a research mission won' stand in the way!"

Captain's Log Stardate: 52129.7

We have picked up the scientists.  The research mission will last a few weeks during my absence.

"Coordinates are locked in," reported Murphy.

     "Take us there," ordered Leno.

"Alex, I have to get going.  My meeting begins in about 20 seconds," stated Q.

     "When are you coming back?"

"In a few months.  Is Commander brooks still mad at me?"

"A little.  He will be over it soon.  He will look back and laugh at it."

Captain's Personal Log Stardate: 52189.2

We have arrived to the coordinates where Kamara and my families will meet.  The wedding is a few days away.

"Starfleet Command sent us a report that no Dominion ships will be in the area for a good seven days," reported Brooks.

"Nothing can possibly go wrong with the wedding," stated Leno.

"Kamara is here to see you," stated Jones.

     "Send her in."

"I can't believe that the wedding is only a few days away," stated Kamara.

"We won't have any problems from the Dominion until we have left the ship for our honeymoon," stated Leno.

"Those ships can be someone else's problems," added Kamara.

Kamara's Personal Log Stardate: 52196.6

The wedding is only two days away.  Everything is ready.  My parents will be arriving in about 27 hours.
