Chapter 1

Captain's Log Stardate: 51101.2

Our next mission is to protect the Federation border from the Dominion.  We have been joined by the Mir.

"Captain, the Mir is hailing us," stated Commander Brooks, over the comm system.

"Put it in my ready room."

Captain Leno turned on his desktop computer.

"What do you need, Roger?" asked Leno.

"We are ready to go when you are," answered Captain Roger Sanders.

     "We can leave now."

Captain Leno turned off his desktop computer and went to the Main Bridge.

"Ensign Murphy, take us to the Federation border, Warp 8," ordered Leno.

"The Mir is right behind us," reported Lieutenant Commander Jones.

"Any signs of Dominion ships?" asked Leno.

     "Nothing on sensors."

"We are six hours from the border," stated Murphy.

"I'll be in Holodeck 2," stated Leno.

Captain Leno went to meet Kamara in Holodeck 2.  They were going to act out a famous Klingon battle.

After Captain Leno and Kamara were finished, Captain Leno was called back to the Main Bridge.

"I have to get back to the Main Bridge," stated Leno.

"I've a few things to do."

     "I'll see you later."

     "Thank you for the afternoon."

Captain Leno went to his ready room while Kamara went back to her quarters.

Captain Leno contacted his daughter, who is stationed on the Mir.

"Cindy, I have to tell you something," stated Leno.

"What is it?" asked Cindy Leno.

     "I'm going out with Kamara."

"Why are you going out with her?"

     "Because, I love her."

Captain's Leno desktop computer went black.

"Captain, there is a transmission from Vatqu," stated Jones.

"Who is it for," asked Leno.

     "Kamara."

"I will go and tell her," stated Leno.

Captain Leno went to Kamara quarters located on Deck 3.  He rang the doorbell.

     "Come in," answered Kamara.

"You have a transmission from Vatqu," stated Leno.

"It must be from my father and mother."

     "I have to get going."

"Thank you for coming to tell me."

Captain Leno went back to the Main Bridge while Kamara talked to her Klingon-human mother and human father.  She turned on her desktop computer.

"Hello father and mother," stated Kamara.

     "Hello, Kamara," stated Mr. Harkins.

     "What do you need?"

"We want to know how you are doing," answered Kemara.

"I'm doing fine on the Texas."

     "How is Alex?" asked Kemara.

"He's doing fine.  He took me to the Holodeck today," answered Kamara.

"It's so nice to see you two together again," stated Mr. Harkins.

"That makes two of us," stated Kamara.

"We have to get going," stated Mr. Harkins.

"We'll talk to you in a few days," stated Kemara.

Kamara's desktop computer screen turned black.  She turned it off.

Back on the Main Bridge, Lieutenant Commander Jones had just picked up a Federation distress signal.

"Captain, I'm picking up a distress signal coming from a nearby planet," reported Jones.

"Take us over to the planet," ordered Leno.

"We have to be close to use the transporters," stated Jones.

"We'll have to land the ship on the planet to use the transporters," stated Murphy.

"The Mir is following us," stated Brooks.

"We are two minutes from the planet," stated Murphy.

"Commander Brooks assemble an away team to look for survivors as soon as we land on the planet," ordered Leno.

"Jones, Dayan, Murphy, you're with me," ordered Brooks.

"We have arrived at the planet," stated Murphy.

     "Take us down," ordered Leno.

     "Blue alert," ordered Brooks.

"All stations report ready," reported Jones.

"The planet's atmosphere is unstable.  We have landed," reported Murphy.

"The Mir has also just landed," stated Jones.

"Commander Brooks, Lieutenant Commander Jones, Lieutenant Dayan, and Ensign Murphy left the Main Bridge and waited for orders to leave the ship.

Chapter 2

"Captain, the away team has just left the ship," stated Lieutenant Kelly.

"Scan for Dominion ships," ordered Leno.

"Sensors have picked up a Dominion ship.  The away team has not found anyone," reported Kelly.

"Tell them to keep looking," ordered Leno.

"We have found a shuttlecraft," reported Brooks, over his communicator badge.

"Do you know what ship it came from?" asked Leno.

"The shuttle is scattered over two kilometers," answered Kelly.

"I'm going down there," stated Leno.

Captain Leno went to the lounge to get Lieutenant Logan.

"I'm going down to the surface and want you to go with me," stated Leno.

"I want to go," stated Ben Leno.

"Let me go and get changed into my uniform," stated Logan.

"I'll meet you in five minutes in Transporter Room 3," stated Leno.

Lieutenant Logan went to his quarters to get his uniform.  He met Captain Leno in Transporter Room 3.  Kamara walked in.

"I would like to go," stated Kamara.

     "Hop onto the transport pad."

     "Thank you, Alex."

Captain Leno, Lieutenant Logan, Lieutenant Ben Leno, and Kamara were beamed to the surface of the planet.  They met up with Commander Brook's away team.

"What else have you found?" asked Leno.

"The shuttle came from Starfleet Command.  The ship was shot down by the Dominion.  Everyone beamed out right before the shuttle crashed," answered Brooks.

"We need to find the survivors," stated Leno.

"Captain, the Mir would like to know if you need help to look for survivors," stated Lieutenant Commander Parks, over Leno's comm badge.

     "The help would be appreciated."

"He will have six officers down there in five minutes."

Captain Sanders sent six officers to the surface.  Captain Leno's daughter, Cindy Leno, was one of them.

     "Cindy!" shouted Captain Leno.

"Hello, father.  How have you been?" asked Cindy Leno.

     "Fine."

     "I'll talk to you later."

"Dad, I think I have found someone," stated Ben.

"He has found someone, however, the person is not breathing," replied Doctor Adams.

"Get him to the ship," ordered Leno.

"Lieutenant Baker, two to beam directly to Sickbay."

Doctor Adams and the patient were beamed to Sickbay.  Adams began emergency treatment on the patient.

Back on the planet, the away teams couldn't find any other members of the shuttle's  crew.

"Captain, we have lost your daughter," stated Brooks.

"Where was she seen last?" asked Leno.

     "We don't know," answered Brooks.

A few kilometers away, Kamara found an injured Cindy Leno in a deep hole.

"You will be fine," stated Kamara.

     "I don't feel fine."

     "I'm coming down."

"Don't, you will also be trapped."

Kamara went down the hole.  She saw Cindy needed treatment right away.  Kamara used Cindy's comm badge.

"Emergency transport to Sickbay," stated Kamara.

Kamara and Cindy were quickly beamed to the Texas.  Captain Leno found out about his daughter was in Sickbay.  He was transported to the ship.

Chapter 3

     Captain Leno rushed to Sickbay.

     "How is she?" asked Leno.

"Kamara found Cindy just in time.  She will be fine with a few days of rest," answered Adams.

Commander Brooks beamed up to the ship and went to Sickbay.

"We have found the rest of the shuttle's crew.  They report that they shot down by the Dominion," stated Brooks.

"Where are they now?" asked Leno.

"They have been assigned quarters and are resting," answered Brooks.

"We need to catch the Dominion ship that did this," stated Kamara.

"We are to leave the planet at once.  Contact Captain Sanders, and tell him we have Cindy on board," ordered Leno.

Captain's Log Stardate: 51113.8

We have found the ship that shot down the shuttle carrying three admirals to Amgosia to finish what Ambassador Andrews began.

"Captain, we're less than 10 minutes to the Dominion ship," reported Brooks.

     "On my way," answered Leno.

Captain Leno went to the Main Bridge and sat down.

     "Red alert," ordered Leno.

"The Dominion ship is turning around," stated Murphy.

     "Fire at will," ordered Leno.

The three ships began to do battle.  The Texas was able to stop the Dominion ship, while the Mir finished it off.

     "Stand down," ordered Leno.

Captain Leno went back to Sickbay.

"She will be out in a few hours," stated Adams.

"Can I see her?" asked Leno.

"Don't be long.  She needs her rest," answered Adams.

"How are you feeling?" asked Leno.

     "Much better."

"Doctor Adams says you can leave in a few hours."

"Would tell Kamara thank you for me?"

"Why don't you do it yourself."

     Kamara walked into Sickbay.

"I want to say thank you for saving my life," stated Cindy.

"You're very welcome.  How about having dinner with your father and me, when you get out?"

"Sure.  Where do you want it?"

     "Your father's quarters."

     "That's fine with me."

"That's also fine with me.  I'll go set it up," stated Leno.

A few hours later, Doctor Adams released Cindy Leno from Sickbay.  She was assigned quarters on Deck 7.  She changed into more comfortable clothing.

In a few minutes, she went to her father's quarters.  She rang the doorbell.

     "Come in," answered Leno.

"I prepared some Klingon and human food," stated Kamara.

     "Thank you," answered Cindy.

"Let's sit down and eat," stated Leno.

They all sat down and eat.  They talked about many different things.

Cindy has transported back to the Mir.  We will continue patrolling the Federation border.
