Time to Take Action
Captain's Log Stardate 52601.7
With the Breen joining the Dominion and the Cardassians turning against the Dominion, Starfleet has been losing the war. We will be joining the Third Fleet to stop an advance into Federation territory.
"Captain, we will be joining the fleet in a few minutes," reported Lieutenant Commander Jones.
"I'll be out in a moment!"
"Sensors are picking up a fleet of Dominion ships heading right for us."
Captain Leno came out from his ready room. He sat down in his chair on the bridge.
"They are attacking the main fleet, reported Jones
"Some Dominion ships are breaking away and coming this way," reported Commander Brooks.
"The Nebula, Mir, Lexington will arrive in a 12 minutes," reported Ensign Murphy.
"That is a long time to hold out until they arrive."
"The Idaho, Utah, and Louisiana have been destroyed," reported Jones.
"We will be next if we don't get out of here."
"Notify Starfleet Command about the Dominion Fleet," ordered Leno.
"The first Dominion ship will arrive in 30 seconds," reported Murphy.
"The Dominion and Breen fleet are breaking apart," reported Jones.
"We are arriving to the Utah."
"Search for survivors," ordered Leno.
"Sensors report that four lifeboats are out there, however, no one remains on the main ship," reported Jones.
"Beam the survivors to sickbay."
"We beamed 21 survivors off the lifeboats. Two Dominion ships are approaching."
"Take us behind the Utah."
"In position. Waiting for orders," reported Murphy.
"Dominion ships coming in all directions!" reported Wilson.
The Texas began to take attack from six Dominion ships. They were able to destroy two of the ships.
"That last hit took out our navigational control," reported Murphy.
"We must land on a planet right away," informed Murphy.
"The planet Gaolz nearby. Class N planet with inhabitants on it," said Jones.
"Take us there, maximum warp," ordered Leno.
"We will arrive in six minutes. The Lexington and Nebula are right behind the Dominion ships," reported Murphy.
"Send a distress signal."
"Distress signal sent right before we lost communications," reported Jones.
"We have lost aft shielding. Losing power on most decks," reported Wilson.
"The Dominion ships have been destroyed," reported Brooks.
We have crashed landed on Gaolz with a few minor injuries among the crew. We have begun to repair the ship.
"Captain, a fleet of Jem’Hadar soldiers has just beamed to the planet. Reports possibly say about 200 soldiers were beamed," reported Jones.
"Try to get shielding up," ordered Leno. "I don't want any of them on the ship."
"We have some shielding. May not be enough to stop the Jem'Hadar."
"We will use the ship's phasers to stop them."
“We will be able to leave the planet in five hours,” reported Lieutenant Commander Hall.
“What is the current situation with the shielding?”
“Shielding will be fully functional in three hours.”
“We have taken out 70% of the Jem’Hadar soldiers,” reported Jones.
“The other 30% is hiding or beamed back to the Dominion ships,” reported Wilson.
“Stand down. We have to get off this planet as quickly as we can,” ordered Leno.
“Captain, the Mir and Nebula destroyed the two Dominion ships,” reported Jones.
“Our ride up has just became better,” stated Brooks.
“Hail the Mir,” ordered Leno.
“Go ahead, Alex. Your signal is scrambled,” stated Captain Roger Sanders.
“Repairs to the ship will be complete in a few hours. We will be leaving the planet right after that.”
“The area is clean for the next few hours.”
“What happened with the other ships?”
“Seven hundred people died and four ships destroyed.”
“A big loss for us.”
“However, we did gain some territory. An additional fleet of 30 ships will be joining us soon.”
“We have lost communication again,” stated Jones.
Chapter 2
Repairs to the ship are complete. We are ready to join the fleet once again.
“All systems ready. We are ready to leave the planet,” reported Jones.
“Blue alert. Get us off this planet,” ordered Leno.
The Texas slowly lifted off the surface of Gaolz. They rejoined the fleet.
“All systems are functioning within safety limits. The nearest enemy ship is six hours away,” reported Wilson.
“I have assigned seven of the Utah’s crew to positions around the hip. The others are still in Sickbay,” reported Brooks.
The time slowly passed as the Dominion ships slowly kept coming towards the third fleet.
“Here they come!” exclaimed Murphy.
“All hands to battle stations,” ordered Brooks.
“Lock weapons and continue to fire weapons,” ordered Leno.
“Taking damage to the ship,” reported Jones.
“Additional Starfleet, Klingon, and Romulan ships are approaching,” reported Wilson.
“Two Federation ships have been damaged.”
“The Dominion ships are falling back. Eight Jem’Hadar ships have been destroyed,” reported Brooks.
The battle continued to erupt between the Federation and Dominion ships. The Federation won the battle, but lost many ships and lives. Captain Leno called for a meeting of his senior staff.
“The final report is in, 13 Federation ships and 1,297 lives lost. The survivors that escaped have been distributed throughout the remaining ships,” reported Brooks.
“We have taken 75of those crew members,” reported Dayan.
“The Hubble will take additional crew members to Starbase 217 and will be leaving in one hour,” reported Dayan.
“The next round of Dominion ships will arrive in 13 hours. The ships will be ready by then,” reported Jones.
“Send some of those crew members to the Hubble. I don’t want that many people on board if we have to evacuate. Dismissed,” ordered Leno.
Captain’s Log Stardate: 52642.9
The Hubble has reached Starbase 217 without being attack. The fleet was able to defeat an additional 22 Dominion ships with minor losses.
“Two Dominion ships are attempting to past us. We are the closest ship,” reported Jones.
“Get us over there. Notify the other ships.”
The Texas approached the Dominion ships.
“We have taken damage to all parts of the ship,” reported Jones.
“We are having serious problems with the warp core and we can’t get it under control,” reported Hall.
“We must evacuate the ship or separate the ship,” stated Wilson.
“Continue to attack the Dominion ships. Release the core,” ordered Leno.
“We can’t dump the core.”
“Evacuate the battle section. Attempt to dump the core.”
“All hands, evacuate battle section. Report to the primary hull immediately,” ordered Brooks.
The crew of the Texas began to make their way to the primary section.
“All the crew has made it to the saucer, except Lieutenant Commander Hall,” reported Dayan.
“He is still attempting to get it under control,” stated Brooks.
“Prepare to separate the ship. Fix a transporter lock on him,” ordered Leno.
“Separating sequence ready. Process beginning,” reported Jones.
“We’ve got less than two minutes to get out of here,” reported Wilson.
“Go to maximum impulse. Get him out of there!”
“The Dominion ships have damaged he section. We have also lost sensors,” reported Jones.
“We can’t get a lock on Hall. There is too much interference,” reported Brooks.
“We are out of transporter range. The Dominion ships have been destroyed,” reported Wilson.
“We have no defensive capabilities. Shields and weapons are damaged,” reported Jones.
“Begin working on shielding.
We have lost the battle section and Lieutenant Commander Hall. We are attempting to rejoin the fleet. We have some shields and weapons back on-line.

Back on the battle section, Lieutenant Commander Hall was able to stabilize the warp core.
“Computer, bring the Battle Bridge on-line and switch all commands there, authorization Hall 7-Delta-310.”
“Authorization accepted. Captain Alex Leno is not on board. Senior officer Lieutenant Commander Peter Hall is currently highest ranking officer available.”
Lieutenant Commander Hall went to the Battle Bridge. He sat down at the conn.
“Computer, begin searching for the saucer section of the U.S.S. Texas.”
“Saucer section found.”
The Texas’ secondary section began to catch u to its other half.
“Time to arrival?”
“Two minutes and seven seconds.
“Begin hailing them.”

Back on the saucer, Lieutenant Commander Jones was receiving Hall’s hail.
“Captain, we are being hailed from the other section.”
“On screen.”
“I believe I have something of yours. I have been able to repair the warp core, however, it still needs repair done to it,” stated Adams.
“Prepare to link up,” answered Leno.
The two sections were joined. Engineering crews began to repair the warp core.
“The warp core is repaired, however, maximum warp is limited to 9.5. Additional repairs will have to be made at a starbase,” stated Hall.
“You have done an outstanding job today. Repairing the warp core and saving the ship. A note of today’s events have been noted into your service record,” stated Leno.
“Thank you, sir.”
Chapter 3
Lieutenant Commander Hall was able to save the ship, by repairing the warp core. he will be awarded at the end of the war.
“Captain, there is a small fleet of Dominion ships coming this way,” reported Jones.
“The fleet is at red alert,” reported Wilson.
“Can we go battle?” asked Leno.
“Yes, however, without two phaser banks,” answered Jones.
“Here they come,” reported Brooks.
“Evasive maneuvers. Don’t let them lock onto us.”
“The admiral’s ship has been destroyed. Sensors report no survivors,” reported Wilson.
“A crew of over 600 all dead including Admiral Nechez,” stated Brooks.
“The Comet has been destroyed. I can’t believe it. Some of my friends were on that ship,” stated Murphy.
“The Nebula and Mir have joined the battle,” reported Jones.
“Hull breach on Deck 7 Section 21. Seven crew members are dead,” reported Dayan.
“The emergency system is not responding,” reported Wilson.
“Evacuate Deck 7 and get the emergency system back on-line,” ordered Leno.
“Lieutenant Commander Hall will have the emergency systems back on-line in about 10 minutes,” reported Jones.
“All of the Dominion ships are in retreat. Should we go after them?” asked Murphy.
“Let them go. We are in no condition to go after them.”
The fleet was unable to stop the last Dominion fleet that attacked us. That fleet no longer can be tracked.
“A fleet of four Dominion ships has been located by the other Starfleet ships,” reported Jones.
“Starfleet has located a Jem’Hadar base nearby out location. We are to destroy it at once,” reported Jones.
“How many ships protect that base?” asked Brooks.
“Over 40, however, our sensors aren’t in the best condition to get an accurate count.”
“Take us that base, Warp 9.”
“We will arrive in 11 hours,” reported Murphy.
“I’m going to Sickbay. Commander, you have the bridge.”
Captain Leno went to Sickbay. He wanted to see which members of his crew were killed during the last battle. He was shocked to see how many members had died.
“We will have the formal service in three hours. Notify the crew to meet in the shuttlebay,” ordered Leno.
“I will do it right away,” answered Doctor Adams.
Captain Leno went to his quarters. Kamara went to comfort him.
“Fourteen crew members killed in one battle. How man more deaths can we take?” asked Leno.
“We are starting to win this war. We must continue until the Dominion has been defeated. until then, Starfleet, the Klingons, and Romulans must continue to fight,” stated Kamara.
“This is my first time losing so many crew members, I can’t let it happen again.”
“I know. This is why Starfleet must win to show that all these people didn’t die for nothing.”
“Captain, the families have been notifies,” reported Brooks.
“The funeral service will begin soon,” stated Kamara.
Captain Leno and Kamara met up with the rest of the crew. Captain Leno took his place.
“We are joined here today for as sad reason. Fourteen crewmembers were killed during the battle with the Dominion. Losses like this can no longer happen on this ship. We will continue to fight until the end of this war. Commander Brooks will now read their names.
“Lieutenant Commander Betty Riley, Lieutenant Commander Suzy Lucas, Ensign Jane Harris, Lieutenant Jennifer Taylor, Ensign Peter Collins, Ensign William Gibson, Ensign Joseph Davis, Ensign Beverly Tucker, Ensign Ronald Baron, Ensign Joyce Conner, Ensign Thomas Marshall, Ensign Andrew Mason, Ensign Joseph Turner, and Ensign Carolyn Campbell-Turner.
“Lieutenant Dayan will now say a few words.”
“All of them died for what they believed in, protecting the Federation and the Alpha Quadrant. Most of them were people I have known since my days at the Academy.”
The funeral service came to an end. Captain Leno returned to his quarters. Kamara met up with him later.
“This is hard for you,” stated Kamara.
“It will take time to get over.”
“You’ll get over it. You always have.
Chapter 4
“Captain, we are nearing the base and the Dominion ships,” reported Jones.
“They know the fleet is coming. They are taking attack formation,” added Brooks.
“Go to red alert. Notify the fleet, we’re going in,” ordered Leno.
“We need a distraction, so we can get past the Dominion ships,” stated Murphy.
“We can release some of our shuttles towards the ships,” stated Wilson.
Make it so.”
“The Houston, Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio have been released,” reported Brooks.
“We are getting past the Dominion fleet,” reported Murphy.
The Texas took heavy damage. Captain Leno and some of the bridge crew were thrown from their chairs. Captain Leno was seriously injured.
“He is dying. he must get to Sickbay right away,” stated Dayan.
“Transporter Room 1, transport the captain directly to Sickbay,” ordered Brooks.
“What are we to do?” asked Murphy.
“We will continue to make our way to the base.”
“The shuttles have been destroyed. So far the Starfleet, Klingon, and Romulan ships have taken little or no damage,” reported Jones.
“We will arrive to the base in three minutes,” reported Murphy.
“Notify Kamara and Ben about the captain,” ordered Brooks.
Kamara and Ben Leno were notified of the Captain’s condition. They rushed to Sickbay. Kamara fell on the way.
“Are you all right?” asked Ben.
“I’m fine.”
They continued to arrive to Sickbay. They saw Captain Leno in surgery.
“How is he?” asked Kamara.
“Doctor Adams doesn’t know, however, he did need surgery right away,” answered Nurse Harris.
“How long before we find out anything?” asked Ben.
“Maybe a few minutes. It depends on how long Doctor Adams is in surgery.”
Kamara and Ben Leno sat down while Captain Leno was being operated on. On the bridge, the crew was looking at the base that held nearly 3,000 Jem’Hadar soldiers.
“Prepare to fire all weapons toward the base,” ordered Brooks.
“The base has very few defensive capabilities. They were working on them. They best they have is shielding and a few phaser banks,” reported Jones.
“The other ships have broken free. Destroying this base will take a few minutes,” reported Wilson.
The Starfleet ships began to fire weapons at the Jem’Hadar base, while the Klingon and Romulan fleet kept the Dominion ships away from the Starfleet ships. The base was destroyed a few minutes later.
“The base has been destroyed. All the Jem’Hadar are dead,” reported Jones.
First Officer’s Log Stardate: 52672.1
Captain Leno has been injured. His condition is unknown. Kamara and Lieutenant Ben Leno. I have also contacted his daughter Cindy on the Mir.
Kamara went to contact Mrs. Leno.
“How is he?” asked Mrs. Leno.
“We do not know yet. He is still in surgery. We may know for a few more hours.”
“Please let me know changes?”
“You know I will. I have to get back to Sickbay.
Kamara quickly returned to Sickbay. Nurse Harris approached her.
“He is out of surgery. he should awaken in a few hours. Right now, Doctor Adams is treating other crew members.”
Commander Brooks walked into Sickbay. He began talking to the captain’s son.
“How is he doing?” asked Brooks.
“He should recover in a few days. He is resting now.”
“I must get back to the bridge. let me know if his condition changes.”
Kamara returned to her quarters to contact her parents on Vatqu.
“What do you need?” asked Mr. Harkins.
“I need to talk to someone. Alex has just undergone surgery. He should be all right in a dew days,” stated Kamara.
“What happened?” asked Kemara.
“He got thrown from his chair during a battle with the Dominion. I have to return to Sickbay to check on Alex.”
“We will talk to you soon.”
Chapter 5
Kamara returned to Sickbay. She noticed Captain Leno was awake and talking to his son. Kamara walked up to them.
“How are you feeling?” asked Kamara.
“Better. How long am I going to have to stay in here?”
“Doctor Adams said a few more days. He has to do some follow-up testing,” answered Ben.
“He needs to get some more rest,” stated Adams.
Kamara and Ben returned to their quarters. Kamara ordered dinner from the replicator and went to bed while Ben went of duty in Engineering.
Captain Leno is getting better after his fall on the bridge a few days ago. he should be released in a day or two.
“Commander, sensors are picking up Dominion ships heading towards the fleet,” reported Jones.
“The warp drive is off-line for repairs,” added Wilson.
“Engineering, how much longer for the warp core?” asked Brooks.
“We are working as fast as we can. it should be ready in about 10 minutes,” answered Hall.
The Engineering continued to repair the warp core as the Dominion ships drew closer to the fleet.
“The warp core is ready,” reported Hall.
“Take us to the fleet, Warp 2,” ordered Brooks.
“We will arrive in a few minutes,” reported Murphy.
“All repairs to the ship are complete. We can’t take another heavy beating again. The structural integrity has weaken since a few days ago,” stated Hall.
“We will need to repair it at a starbase,” added Wilson.
“How far are the Dominion ships?” asked Brooks.
“Thirty seconds away. The head of the fleet has began to attack the Dominion fleet.”
The Federation fleet and the Dominion fleet began to battle. The Dominion fleet was defeated with most of the Federation ships were damaged.
“The final battle report is in. Seven hundred people dead, none from the Texas. No ships were destroyed and most were damaged with repair that will take a few days,” reported Jones.
“Get us to Starbase 43, maximum warp. I want those repairs completed as soon as possible,” ordered Brooks.
“Captain Leno will be released from Sickbay in the morning. He will need a few days of rest,” stated Adams, walking onto the bridge.
“Can I go see him?” asked Brooks.
Commander Brooks and Doctor Adams proceeded to Sickbay. Commander Brooks went over to Captain Leno while Doctor Adams went into his office.
“I’m finally out of this place. Sitting in bed all day is not exciting. How was the last battle?”
“Great. Forty-four Dominion ships destroyed with only seven people dead.”
“Sounds like success.”
“We have proceeded to Starbase 49 to get repairs to the hull.”
“How long will the repairs take?”
“A few days. The fleet will be fine. Sensors did not locate and Dominion ships nearby, and besides the repairs are required for the ship to continue with the battle.”
Captain Leno has been released from Sickbay. The Texas is en-route to Starbase 49 to be repaired.
“It is so nice to see you out of the bed,” stated Kamara.
“I want to get something to eat,” stated Leno.
“Ben is preparing dinner. he said to stop by later.”
Captain Leno and Kamara went over to Ben’s quarters. Ben had diner already on the table. Commander Brooks walked in. The four sat down at the dinner table and began to eat.
“You are a great cook. I will have to come back,” stated Brooks.
“Thank you. I let you know when I’m making dinner again,” answered Ben.
“Captain, we are docking to the starbase. Repairs will begin soon,” stated Murphy.
“Keep me notified.”
